On September 10, the Diversity Council held the orientation for the third-ever semester of its student internship program, which it runs with the goal of contributing to the spread of a culture of caring and respect on campus. The orientation was conducted via videoconference as part of social distancing efforts meant to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

With the theme of “Breaking Down Walls Between SNU Students: Cultivating Empathy in the Online Era”, the cohort of 38 interns, which includes domestic, international, undergraduate, and graduate students, will take part in self-directed group activities focusing on how to increase students’ ability to empathize with each other at a time when more and more student interactions are taking place through screens because of COVID-19.

In addition to the self-directed group activities that will be based on their own ideas, the student interns will participate in diversity training, campus webinars related to diversity, Diversity Council events, and other interesting activities until their session ends in December.
