The SNU Diversity Council debuted its redesigned website in Nov. 2018. The new site uses a clean and intuitive user interface to present the activities the council has engaged in over its nearly three-year history, with a menu bar dividing these activities into categories such as research efforts, events, policies, etc. The council intends to update the site frequently so that visitors can find up-to-date information on diversity at SNU and in the world, particularly through pages such as “SNU by the Numbers”, “Archive”, which features recommendations for diversity related books, films, and websites, and “Related News”.
The council also held two online events in Nov. to celebrate the launch of the redesigned site. For the first event, anyone with an SNU portal site ID was invited to log in and share a brief thought about diversity in exchange for a small gift certificate to a convenience store. Two-hundred-and-forty-nine people—5 faculty members, 72 staff members, and 172 students—wrote in to express their opinions.
The second event sought submissions of short articles recommending diversity-related books. It attracted 83 participants—2 faculty members, 9 staff members, and 72 students. Council staff used a two-round evaluation process to choose the top 10 submissions, which will soon be published on the “Archive” page.
