The meeting took place at 2pm, March 4, in the Chairman’s Office on the 5th floor of the Lotte International Education Hall between Hyeryung Jeon, an officer from the Cultural Policy Division of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Jihyun Moon and Minha Choi, Assistant Managers from Korean Arts Council’s Regional Cooperation Department that are leading the Cultural Diversity Education Project. The discussion topic was mainly regarding the development and distribution of the online educational course which is a part of the 2021 main project, ‘Composition of an Online Expert Training Course for Cultural Diversity’. Since 2014, as one of their main projects, the Arts Council Korea has been developing and operating a cultural diversity educational curriculum according to educational target groups.
This year, we plan to develop a separate basic and advanced course for professionals such as faculty members or cultural managers. Such developed educational courses will be produced and operated as K-MOOC course.
During the hour and 30 minutes, we explored means to develop a curriculum in cooperation with the Diversity Council. Hereafter, the Diversity Council and Korean Arts Council will sign an MOU agreement to develop the cultural diversity educational course as well as acquire specific plans such as to corporate in operating the Diversity Council internship, opening a diversity book fair, and managing a special guest book concert with authors, to cooperate with each other.
