4b04a8c43f3bd9bd84170bda62622276_1614151727_6985.jpgDuring the months of July and August 2020, the Gender Equality Action Plan Task Force for the three-year period of 2021-2023, which is headed by Diversity Council chair Wha Sook Jeon, met to conduct its business. In addition to Chairwoman Jeon, the task force included Diversity Council vice chair Changhoo Chun, Diversity Council member Sugin Kweon, Dean of Academic Affairs Seokmin Shin, SNU Faculty Council secretary Professor Young Mock Lee, SNU Women’s Faculty Council vice-president Professor Jeong-Hwa Baek, University Faculty Appointment Gender Equality Promotion Council member Professor Yuree Lee, Professor Youngsook Huh of the College of Natural Sciences, and Professor Nayoung Kim of the College of Medicine. Over four meetings, the participants had in-depth discussions on the following issues in relation to the three-year period: the target percentage of women among newly-hired faculty, the establishment of such targets for each academic department, and measures to increase the hiring of women; the target percentage of female faculty in important positions and measures to reach this; gender equality promotion bodies’ planned activities for materializing gender equality and policies to create to support the development of female faculty members’ capabilities and the fostering of female workers. Based on these discussions, the task force created a draft Gender Equality Action Plan and submitted it to the Office of Academic Affairs on September 8, and at an open meeting on October 8, the task force reviewed the revisions and supplementations that the Office of Academic Affairs had made.
