The council’s first full meeting of the year, which was originally scheduled for March 16 but postponed due to COVID-19, took place on June 18 (Thurs.) at noon in the Lily Room of Hoam Faculty House. At the meeting, SNU president Oh Se-Jung was finally able to issue certificates and letters of appointment to the members of the third Diversity Council, who had taken their seats on February 22, 2020. There were also no group photos taken at the event due to COVID-19 concerns.

Diversity Council chair Hwa-Sook Jeon presented on the council's activities and relevant news over the past six months, which included the publication of the "Diversity Report 2019", the launch of the council’s 2020 first-semester research project "Current Legal Systems Related to Diversity Protection and Promotion at SNU and Recommendations for Their Improvement", the activities of the sub-councils, a diversity book recommendation contest and book exhibition, the enforcement results of the partial amendment to the Public Educational Officials Act that the council helped to pass the National Assembly, and preparations to form a task force to create a 2021-2023 Gender Equality Action Plan for the university as requested by the Ministry of Education. She also reported on the council's 2019 financial statements for corporate accounting and its budget plan for 2020, among other miscellaneous items. There were particularly in-depth discussions among attendees about the 10-year target gender ratio to be proposed for the school rules ahead of the enactment of an amendment to the national SNU Act that will mandate efforts to prevent one gender from comprising more than three-fourths of the university's faculty; the task of creating the Gender Equality Action Plan and submitting it to the government; and proactive employment measures to increase the hiring of new female faculty members. For the creation of the (proposed) Gender Equality Action Plan, the council decided to form the abovementioned task force, which would center around the council, and have it put the plan together during July and August. In addition, Kyung Hee Kang, Chosun Ilbo editorialist and external member of the council, expressed the opinion that the annual diversity report and statistics on diversity at SNU should be published not just on the council's homepage but also on the homepage of the university itself in order to make more people aware of SNU's respect for diversity and efforts to spread the value of diversity. Finally, the meeting concluded with a discussion of the council's status as an advisory body reporting directly to the university's president and its limitations as an advisory body.
