The Diversity Council began recruitment for the spring 2020 program on March 16th. At that time, in-person classes at SNU were expected to resume on March 30th, and accordingly, we simply planned to reduce the program’s number of hours from the usual 40 down to 30.

However, the University Committee on Academic Affairs decided on March 23rd to extend the period of remote classes by two weeks to April 13th, and it says that this period may be further extended depending on the progress of COVID-19. Face-to-face activities are an important part of the Diversity Pioneers internship. Therefore, instead of further shortening this semester’s program, we have made the difficult decision to cancel it entirely.

We are very sorry that this development has been necessary. Please know that we will carefully watch the situation and restart recruitment for the program when we are certain of the interns having a safe and enjoyable internship experience. We wish you health in this difficult time.
