We would like to express our gratitude to all of the participants in the 2020 Diversity Book Recommendation Contest. The contest, which took place over the three-week period from March 23 to April 12, attracted many more entries than we had expected.

The Diversity Council received a total of 166 book recommendations from diverse members of the SNU community including undergraduate students, graduate students, degree candidates, exchange/visiting students, international students, staff, researchers, and faculty. For the fairest evaluation of all these entries, we added a third round to our usual two-round judging process and conducted all rounds "blind", with the entrants' personal identifiers removed from their entries.

Compared to the first Diversity Book Recommendation Contest held in 2018, this year we saw not just more entries but also a wider range of books and a much more mature understanding of diversity. The entries that you sent in were so good that it was difficult to rank them even after three rounds of judging, and we thank you again for this. 

We appreciate your interest and participation and will try to organize even more meaningful events in the future. 

※ Thirty of the winning entries will be selected for inclusion in the diversity book exhibition "Reading Diversity" and an author readings event.
