In commemoration of the coming World Day for Cultural Diversity (May 21st), the Diversity Council is working in collaboration with the SNU Library to hold a book fair Reading Diversity and a Diversity Film Festival Watching Diversity to provide opportunities for SNU members to share the value and meaning of diversity. We call for SNU members’ interest and participation to submit book and film recommendations for a contest to select books and films for these events.

○ Submission period: Open from Monday, April 4th, 2022 until midnight, Sunday, April 24th
○ Eligibility: Anyone with a mySNU ID (all students, including those on leave and degree candidates, faculty, staff, etc.)
○ How to Submit: To enter, write a recommendation for a diversity-related book/film and post it to the Diversity Council’s website on the “Events” notice board (look for the pop-up on the homepage).
○ Details
   - All genres, any subjects are welcome! Any books or movies that allows you to contemplate about ‘diversity’ from a new and different perspective is appropriate! (*Movies are limited to those that have been released in theatres/OTT)
   - Please write your personal thoughts and reasons for recommending the book and movie (word limitation: 300 - 400 words).
   - Books and movies that were not selected in other SNU book fairs (see here)
   - Only one entry per person is allowed (plagiarism will be checked)
   - Examples of recommendations can be found in the “Archive” page (under the “Resources” tab) of the Diversity Council’s website.
○ Prize
   - Book Category: AirPods 3rd generation (5 people), Kyobo Bookstore gift certificate worth 50,000 won (25 people)
   - Film Category: AirPods 3rd generation (2 people), CGV gift certificate worth 50,000 won (8 people)

The selection result will be announced on the Diversity Council website on May 13th. The selected books from the contest will be exhibited at the Reading Diversity book fair in the Book Cafe on the 2nd floor of the SNU Library from May to June 2022. Also, these book/film recommendations would be uploaded and would be accessible to read on the Diversity Council website’s DB. Furthermore, one book and movie would be selected from this recommendation list to be featured at associated events to the Author Invitation Book Concert and Conversation with the Audience.
