| The SNU Diversity Report 2022 examines the state of diversity at SNU, support programs for university life
divided by intended recipients, the state of domestic and international exchange among faculty and students,
and support for work-life balance for all members of the university community. Chapter II, a special feature of the report, summarizes the results of the Diversity Council’s 2022 research project, “Work-Life Balance Experiences Among Members of SNU: Suggestions for Improving Work-Life Balance on Campus”. The chapter includes the research team’s analysis results of the project, which was conducted from June through November. The research team first studied laws and systems in South Korea related to work-life balance and investigated SNU’s regulations and statistics regarding the matter. Study participants pointed out as problems the low level of accessibility of information on work-life balance systems and the lack of a centralized channel for such information. As a result, the research team proposed creating a comprehensive webpage that provides information on work-life balance and guidance on support services. Chapter III analyzes diversity among faculty, researchers, students, and staff as of October 1, 2022. Chapter IV considers the representativeness of SNU’s decision-making bodies by examining the diversity
among committee members and holders of major appointments. Chapter V examines the state of financial and other types of support for university life and work-life balance for
all members of the SNU community. Undergraduate and graduate tuition fees were frozen, and the total amount of
scholarship money students received from both SNU and external sources decreased by about four billion won (in
the 2021 fiscal year). |
