The Second International Faculty Meeting was convened in order to determine the major issues facing SNU’s international faculty members, seek ways to address them, and ensure that faculty’s concerns are reflected in the SNU Diversity Council’s ongoing research projects. The meeting was held on Feb. 27, 2017, and attended by Diversity Council chair Jung-Hye Roe, Diversity Council Sub-council for Administration & Cooperation chair Jung-Hee Kim, Office of International Affairs associate dean MinGyo Koo, and professors Bernhard Egger, David Wright, Hyun Ah Kim, Hilary Finchum-Sung, Sonya Nichole Martin, Otto van Koert, and Eunkyung Euni Lee.

The participants confirmed that improvements suggested during the first meeting—in areas such as research, housing, children’s education, communication, and the accessibility of information—had been made, and held a focused discussion on future steps to be taken. Also, their opinions on the council’s second research project of 2017, “Policies to Promote Faculty Diversity for Improving Internationalization at SNU”, and their recommendations as to who should make up its research team were solicited.
