Due to COVID-19, the first and second workshop for newly appointed faculty members in 2021 was held virtually (Zoom) from February 24th until 25th, and from August 25th, until 26th respectively. Starting with greetings from Eun-mee Kim, the Dean of Academic Affairs, the workshop continued by introducing SNU institutions; the University Senate, SNU Faculty Association, SNU Faculty Union (added on the 2nd workshop) and lastly the Diversity Council. The Diversity Council introduction was presented by Changhoo Chun, the Vice Chair of the Diversity Council, for ten minutes that informed the vision, main functions of the organization. It also included information from the Diversity Report such as the current diversity faculty ratio, students ratio and staff ratio, and the diversity ratio of faculty recruitment by college. For reference, there were a total of 61 newly appointed faculty members in the first semester, of which 21 were female faculty members, accounting for 34.4% of the demography. In the second semester, 49 were newly appointed, of which 10 are female, accounting for 20.4%.
