Event Goals

  • Examination of history of and institutional support for international people in SNU over past 70 years, and search for measures to allow international people and SNU to develop together
  • In honor of 70th anniversary of SNU’s founding, listening to international people’s voices on internationalization and diversity at SNU, in order to become a globally competitive institution

  • Emcee: Jay Park (Alumnus of Dept. of Physical Education, master’s Degree Candidate at Graduate School of Public Administration, actor)
  • Participants: Bernhard Egger (faculty, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering), Hilary V. Finchum-Sung (faculty, Dept. of Korean Music), Samy Rashad (master’s student, Dept. of Korean Language and Literature), Adela Borowiak (doctoral student, Graduate School of International Studies), Cui Wenyan (doctoral student, Dept. of Education), Omangi Trevor Mokaya (undergraduate, Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering)
  • Invited Guest: Robert Ian McKay (retired faculty, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering)
  • Main Contents:
    • 70-minute “talk concert”, opening and closing performances by three groups (organized by SNU Diversity Council)
    • Award ceremony for essay, photography, and video clip contests for international people at SNU (organized by Office of Student Affairs)
    • Congratulatory videos from international alumni, historical videos of international people in the university (organized by Office of International Affairs)
