SNU Diversity Council Chair Ki-Sun Hong presented at the Chung-Ang University Gender Equality Culture Task Force Meeting held on Nov. 23, 2018 at Chung-Ang University. As the task force is a group of professors charged with studying Chung-Ang University’s operations and organizational culture from a gender-equality perspective, Professor Hong was asked to speak about the SNU Diversity Council’s establishment, its vision and roles, and its major activities in the three years since its founding. 

After the thirty-minute presentation ended, a question-and-answer session followed on the Diversity Council’s status at SNU and the difficulties it has experienced. The participants also formed a consensus that courses teaching diversity and inclusivity must be made a larger part of general education programs, and called for SNU to include diversity indicators such as diversity in faculty hiring in its operational self-assessments. The meeting ended with representatives of the two universities, which are located just a short drive from one another, promising to think together about future directions for university development and how to improve university systems.
