Necessity and goals of the research

To determine the difficulties international faculty face in adapting to the university’s culture, analyze them and recommend realistic measures for improvement.

Policy recommendations

a. Policy recommendations based on international faculty survey results
First, expert support in applying for the research application process should be provided.
Second, housing without residence period restrictions, and more activities that involve and build ties between international and domestic faculty should be offered.
Third, international faculty’s participation in decision-making processes should be guaranteed.
Fourth, official emails should include at least some actual text so that their contents can be searched, etc.

b. Policy recommendations based on staff survey results
First, create an annually-updated manual for staff.
Second, provide training on the university’s rules and regulations regarding international faculty.
Third, when allocating the university’s budget, make allocating funding for internationalization a top priority.
Fourth, offer internationalization training opportunities, and reflect participation of these in staff performance evaluations.
