On Mar. 21, 2017, SNU’s Office of International Affairs (OIA) hosted a welcome party in its lobby for new international faculty. The SNU Diversity Council’s chair, Jung-Hye Roe, and its staff were proud to participate in this event that extends a warm welcome to new members of the SNU community. Professor Roe spoke to attendees about the vision, role, activities, and future plans of the council, the only South Korean university institution dedicated to promoting diversity. 

While introducing the various activities the council engages in in order to develop a knowledge community in which all members, including international faculty, are treated with respect and consideration, Professor Roe called on new international faculty to join the council in its efforts to spread a culture of respect for diversity throughout the university.
